BLUEFIELD — Brenda Diane Kinder Parker, 56, of 409 Harry Ave., Bluefield, W.Va., went to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, September 7, 2008.Born August 9, 1952 in Bluefield, she was the daughter of Sylvia Lewis Kinder of Bluefield and the late Spencer Kinder. She was a graduate of Bluefield High School and a homemaker. Surviving Ms. Parker in addition to her mother are her daughter, Staci Louise Parker of Bluefield, and her son, Christopher Joseph Sanders of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Connie Kitts and husband Allan of Bluefield, and Kathy Bowman and her husband Bill of Calhoun, Ga.; four grandsons, Jordan Parker, Justin Sanders, Jason Sanders and Jacob Parker. Also, several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services for Ms. Parker will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Allen A. Hammond officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mercer Funeral Home. BLUEFIELD — Bert Andrew Combs, Jr., age 56, of Route 5 Box 372-F (Bluewell), Bluefield, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at his residence.Born on May 5, 1952 in Bluefield, he was a son of the late Bert Combs, Sr. and Nellie Thore Combs. He had been a lifelong resident of Bluewell and was employed by Rish Equipment in Bluefield as a heavy equipment field mechanic with 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1972-1974 and served in Germany. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed dinners with his family. He doted on his grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Diane Comer.Survivors include: Wife of 32 years: Debra Looney Combs of the home; one son: Bert Combs and wife Kathy of Bluefield; one daughter: Tonya Henegar and husband Steve of Bluefield; two grandchildren: Bryton Combs and Cameron Henegar; one sister: Betty Stevens of Illinois.Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Gary Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell where Wayne, Junior, Guy, and David Looney, Lonzo Mullins, and Estell Carter will serve as pallbearers.Friends may call on Monday (today) from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Combs family.To leave personal condolences online, visit www.legacy.com
